Nelson, Horatio Nelson, viscount, 1758-1805
British naval officer. After his victory at the Battle of the Nile in 1798, Nelson was created Baron Nelson of the Nile and of Burnham Thorpe, Norfolk. The following year he was made Duke of BronteĢ in Sicily for his role in restoring the civil government of Naples after its rescue from the French.
