Ravenel, John, 1793-1862.
Charleston, South Carolina merchant and businessman. John Ravenel (173-1862) married Anna Elizabeth Ford in 1818. Their children include Alfred Ford Ravenel (1822-1893); Francis Gualdo Ravenel (1825-1862); St. Julien Ravenel (1819-1882); Gabriella Ravenel (b. 1827), who married J. Motte Alston (d. 1886); and Frances Harrison Ravenel (b. 1829), who married Elias Horry Frost (1827-1897).
