Flint & Pere Marquette Railroad
The Flint & Pere Marquette Railroad Co. was incorporated on Jan. 21, 1857 for $5,500,000 in East Saginw (Mich.), for the purpose of owning/operating 170 miles of railroad track, from Flint (Mich.) to what is now Ludington (Mich.). On Feb. 15, 1859, the Co. consolidated with the Genesse & Oakland Railroad Co. This was the first of many mergers for the company (Information from Michigan Railroads & Railroad Companies by Graydon M. Meints).
