Wesleyan methodist missionary society
The work of the Wesleyan Methodist Missionary Society began in Australia in 1818 when the Rev. Samuel Leigh arrived in Sydney to found a mission for convicts in New South Wales. Missionaries from each District were required to meet in an annual Synod, the minutes of which were sent home to London.
