Winneshiek, Benjamin W., d. 1998,

Benjamin W. Winneshiek (d.1998) was the son of William and Ruth (Red Cloud) Winneshiek. He served during World War II with the 128th Infantry Regiment, 32nd Infantry Division, enlisting out of a mission school at Neillsville, Wisconsin. He married the former Imogene Swallow in 1952 and the couple had eight children, eventually living in rural Black River Falls in 1964. Ben Winneshiek replaced John Winneshiek as Chief of the Ho-Chunk Wazijaci.
