La Mere, Oliver J., 1912-1945.

Born on March 8, 1912 in Amery, Wis.; graduated from East High School, Minneapolis, Minn. (1930). Attended University of Minnesota; joined Minn. National Guard (1933), appointed 2nd Lieutenant in the reserves; entered active duty in May 1941. La Mere was assigned to the 8th Replacement Depot in Empoli, Italy, before joining the 85th Regimental Headquarters Company on March 16, 1945. In April 1945, he was killed in action near Crespellano, Italy while serving as platoon leader of the 2nd Battalion Anit-Tank Platoon.
