Mather House (Cambridge, Mass.)
Mather House, the newest undergraduate residence at Harvard, opened in 1970. It was named after Increase Mather, President of Harvard from 1685-1692. Mather House was designed by Shepley, Bulfinch, Richardson and Abbot. It is composed of two modern buildings: the Low-rise, which surrounds a courtyard, and the Tower, with a view of the Charles River and downtown Boston.
