Monthly Missionary Programs began as Annual Missionary Programs. It was a booklet created by the Fremont District Literature Committee and contained an outline for each monthly missionary program. This continued to be published, by the Women's Missionary Conference until 1924. At that time, the frequency of the publication changed to twelve issues per year and the title of the publication changed to Monthly Missionary Programs. In addition to missionary program outlines, the publication also included papers presented at WMC conventions. The publication underwent another change in 1929 when it increased its page content to twenty pages and began including department reports. Up until the December 1924 issue, editorship of the publication was listed as a committee of three persons appointed by the Executive Board. Starting with the January 1925 issue, the editor listed was the chairperson of that committee. From 1922-1926 it was Mrs. Julia Bauch Burman, and from 1926-1930 it was Mrs. Anna Trebel Poppen. Monthly Missionary Programs continued to publish under that name until 1931 when it was renamed Women's Missionary Outlook and became the mission publication of the new American Lutheran Church Women's Missionary Federation. Mrs. Julia Bauch Burman was chosen to be its editor. See ALC 52/5/2 Women's Missionary Outlook, 1931-1960.
