Ostro, Ernest A.

Ernest A.Ostro (?-1986) was an author, reporter, and freelance journalist who wrote for the "Bennington Banner", 1962-1963; "Toledo Blade", 1964-1965; and "Washington Star". 1966-1967. He was bureau chief for N.C. News Service (Catholic news agency) and won the Catholic Press Association award for best article in 1972. He moved to England and established the European News Service, Ltd. in 1969. ENS provided news services to: "Time", "Fortune", "American Banker", "Euromoney", and "Business Europe" among others. He published "What Your Mayor Does" (1970). In 1973 he reorganized an English-language newspaper in Teheran, Iran. He was editor for the International Savings Bank Institute, 1974-1976. He did extensive research on Albert Speer in the 1970s, recording numerous interviews with Albert Speer (released from Spandau Prison in 1966) and those who knew him. Ostro's biographical manuscript was never published as he died in 1986 unexpectedly.
