McCleery, Albert
McCleery was born Dec. 30, 1911 in Lawrence, KN; contract writer for Columbia Pictures (1940-41); director of Fordham University theatre (1949); he is best remembered for his theatre-in-the-round productions of classics for television including Cameo theater, Fireside theatre, Hallmark hall of fame, and Matinee theatre; staff director NBC Television Programming Dept. (1949) and went on to become senior executive producer and director of Cameo theatre; produced and directed Hallmark hall of fame; devised NBC's Matinee theater (1955); joined CBS (1959) and became producer of the CBS workshop; died May 13, 1972.
