East Tennessee and Virginia Railroad Company
Incorporated in Tennessee in 1848 to connect Knoxville, Tenn., with the state of Virginia by railroad; line opened from Bristol, Tenn., to Knoxville, Tenn., in 1858; consolidated with East Tennessee and Georgia Railroad Company in 1869 to form East Tennessee, Virginia, and Georgia Railroad Company.
