Stone House Plains Reformed Church (Bloomfield, N.J.)
The first services in what came to be known as the Stone House Plains (now Bloomfield, New Jersey) Dutch Reformed Church were held in a barn in 1795, and became incorporated in 1801 with Peter Stryker (1763-1847) as its first pastor. The first church building was erected at 10 Bellevue Avenue the following year. Eventually, the church changed its name to the Brookdale Reformed Church. After a fire destroyed the original structure, a larger church similar to the original was constructed, which still stands.
