Cooper, Daniel Sir, 1821-1902.
Sir Daniel Cooper, 1821-1902, merchant, politician and philanthropist lived in New South Wales 1843-1861. He was a member of the New South Wales Legislative Council, 1849-1851, the Legislative Assembly, 1856-1860, served as Speaker of the House in three parliaments and was Agent General for New South Wales in London, 1897-1899. His uncle, Daniel Cooper, was one of the proprietors of the Lachlan & Waterloo Mills Company, Sydney. E. S. Hill was a relative of Lady Cooper.
