Brindley, Leonard.

Leonard Brindley was a United States (U.S.) Army soldier in WWII. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Brindley of Belmar, New Jersey. During World War II, he served as a private in Squadron A1-1, Army Air Force. He received his training at the Air Corps Replacement Training Center in Miami Beach, Florida, and was later stationed at the 5th Provisional Squadron, 2nd Provisional Group, at Daniel Field, Augusta, Georgia. While there, Brindley met and married Bettye Geiger of Waycross, Georgia. He was 24 years old and she was 20 years old when they married on October 3, 1943. Brindley's letters indicate that he was stationed in the U.S. during his entire time in the Army Air Force.
