Friendship House Association (Washington, D.C.)

Friendship House Association, founded 1904, directed by Lydia Burklin from 1904 to 1954, is a settlement house in Southeast Washington, D.C., located since 1937 at "The Maples," 619 D st. Southeast. Henry P. Blair served as president of the association for many years. Friendship House provides social services including day care, counselling, recreation, meeting rooms, after school programs, etc.
