Toro, Rafael A. (Rafael Andrés), 1897-
Rafael Andres Toro was a Puerto Rican botanist who collected plants in South America as well as Puerto Rico circa 1927-1930. His specialties were mycology and phytopathology. Toro studied plant diseases and their management and transmission, focusing on important crop plants such as banana, coconut palm, cotton and onions. He was a Phytopathology assistant in the Agricultural Experimental Station in Rio Piedras.
