Muschler, Arthur F., 1922-2002.

Arthur F. Muschler was born in Aurora, Ill. in 1922. He attended Michigan State University, Yale University, the Swiss Federal Technical Institute and the University of Michigan, earning degrees in forestry. During World War II, Muschler served as a forward observer for the 604th Field Artillery, part of the 10th Mountain Division. He was stationed at Camp Hale, Colo., Camp Carson, Colo., Camp Swift, Tex., and in Italy. During combat operations in Italy, Muschler received two Bronze Stars for valor and a Purple Heart. Following the war, Muschler served as president of the National Association of the 10th Mountain Division (1989-1991) and Chairman of the Board (1991-1994). He was also active with the International Federation of Mountain Soldiers.
