Scott, William, ca. 1728-1807.
St. Andrews Parish, South Carolina plantation owner, Revolutionary War officer, and politician. Scott rose to the rank of Lt. Colonel around 1778 and was in command of Fort Moultrie when it capitulated to British forces in May 1780.
