Gales Creek and Wilson River Railroad Company.
The company was incorporated by lumbering interests in 1917 and built 13 miles of rail line from Glenwood to Wilkesboro, which connected logging areas with existing United Railways trackage. In 1922 the Great Northern acquired a half interest in the line, along with the Northern Pacific, through another subsidiary, the Washington and Great Northern Townsite Company. In 1943 the railroad was conveyed to the Spokane, Portland and Seattle Railway, a joint subsidiary of GN and NP, and the company was dissolved.
