Georgia. Office of Lieutenant Governor

The Georgia Constitution, approved 1945, August 7 included a provision creating the Office of Lieutenant Governor and stipulated that he shall serve as President of the Senate. The Lieutenant Governor would also serve as Acting Governor in the event the Governor died, resigned or became disabled until the next general election for members of the General Assembly.
