Anderson family

The Anderson family immigrated to the United States from Sweden in the last half of the nineteenth century. Oscar Anderson was a Salt Lake City merchant before moving to Los Angeles, California. His brother, Edward, served as assistant editor of the Contributor and later became editor of the Improvement Era. Edward also served as Scandinavian Mission president from 1890 to 1892; served on the YMMIA general board; was elected to a number of state and local political offices; and served as surveyor-general for Utah.
