Universalist Church of America. International Church Extension Board.
The Board of Foreign Missions was created by vote of the General Convention in Worcester, Massachusetts in 1917. It had general jurisdiction over the missionary work conducted by the Universalist Church in Japan. In 1931 the Board was renamed the International Church Extension Board, and it had general jurisdiction over church extension work outside the United States and Canada. In December of 1949 it was reorganized and was renamed the Department of Service Projects, overseeing the work of Jordan Neighborhood House, Church Extension, and the Service Committee.
