Fingerman, Milton, 1928-....
Milton Fingerman, an academic endocrinologist, author, and teacher, was born in Boston, and attended Boston College as an undergraduate. He received his Ph.D. degree from Northwestern University. After serving in the Army, Dr. Fingerman joined the faculty at Tulane University in 1954, retiring from its Dept. of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology in 2000. He wrote prolifically, primarily in the field of crustacean endocrinology. At the annual meeting of the Society for Comparative and Integrative Biology in Atlanta, Ga., in 2000, the program included a symposium to honor the career of Milton Fingerman, called "Recent Progress in Crustacean Endocrinology."
