Young, Jeane R.

Jeane R. Young started her career in public broadcasting in 1973 in the Public Broadcasting Service's Division of Public Records. In June 1978, she became director of the Television for Learning Project, a promotional project under the auspices of the Educative Awareness Project. In December 1978, she left PBS to join WKNO-TV in Memphis, Tennessee, as their community relations director. She continued work for the Television for Learning Project as a consultant. In 1979, she began work as the director of public affairs for the Economic Development Administration for the United States Department of Commerce. Young also served as director of public affairs for the Wolf Trap Foundation, where she was in charge of public relations and marketing activities.
