Bartholick, George R.

Born in Bellingham, Washington, in 1921, George R. Bartholick studied architecture at the Universities of Washington and Oregon and practiced in Holland, Sweden and Switzerland before returning to live and work in the Pacific Northwest.

After returning to Bellingham in 1956, Bartholick designed many small commercial, residential, and public projects primarily in northern Washington. In the 1970s, Bartholick moved to Seattle where he worked with architects Ibsen Nelsen and Fred Bassetti. Bartholick's best-known projects focused on remodeling existing structures and the planning of future additions, rather than the construction of new buildings. Bartholick retired to Bellingham in the early 1990s and died in 1998.
