Our Savior's Lutheran Church (Lake Oswego, Or.)

In 1946, longings for a church among a group of Lutheran families led to a request to the board of Home Missions for a congregation. District president H. L. Foss contacted Rev. Waldo Ellickson of Milwaukie Lutheran Church to begin some work. The first service was held December 1. The first Women’s Guild was formed January 23, 1947, and the Luther League the following November. On August 1, 1948 the congregation was formally organized, and shortly thereafter Glenn W. Bragstad accepted a letter of call as first pastor of the congregation. The congregation also purchased a parsonage during this time. In November land at the present site was purchased, and on August 21, 1949 the cornerstone was laid.
