Mitchell, Lise.

According to her daughter Mary, Lise Mitchell was also known as Elizibeth, Elise, or Lize, but most frequently Lise. She was also known later in life by her married name, Lise Mitchell Hamer. The diary in the collection was written between July 1862 and March 1867 from Hurricane Plantation. Lise Mitchell's uncle, Jefferson Davis, was the president of the Confederate States of America.
