Helmuth, Henry, fl. 1820-1862.

Henry Helmuth studied law at the University of Pennsylvania in the 1820's. He then practiced law in Philadelphia and was active in the local politics. He was a member and the clerk of Moyamensing city council, a trustee of the Broad Street Methodist Church, and member of a local Democratic caucus.

Helmuth was related to Henry Robert Percival (1854-1903), a Episcopalian clergyman and theologian. In 1880, Percival briefly served as rector's assistant at Christ Chapel and then was rector of the Church of the Evangelist. In 1890, he founded the Anglo-Catholic St. Elizabeth's Church in Philadelphia.
