White, Harry, 1877-1966.
Harry White was born in 1877. After earning his B.S. in architecture at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1899, White joined the firm of McKim, Mead and White. Here he met Walter R. Wilder, with whom he would form a partnership in 1906. The architectural firm of Wilder & White designed and constructed schools, private residences, and other public and private buildings, primarily in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Vermont. In 1912, the firm designed the new Washington State capitol campus and oversaw the construction of itsTemple of Justice, Insurance Building, and Legislative Building. The partnership was dissolved in 1930 and White set up an independent practice. Later in his life, he acted as an architectural consultant for the firm of York and Sawyer. White remained active until his death in 1966.
