Alexander Memorial Coliseum was completed in September 1956 and dedicated on 30 November 1956. As of May 2009 the Coliseum has undergone three major renovations. Each renovation added more seats; in 2009, the total seating capacity is 9191. The last, and most extensive, renovation occurred in preparation for the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta.
