Hardenbergh Family.

Isaac Hardenbergh (1755-1822) was a merchant who resided in Ulster County, New York until 1791 when he removed to Roxbury, Delaware County, New York establishing the first store, as well as a saw mill and grist mill. He had inherited much of eastern Delaware County including Great Lot 50 of the Hardenbergh Patent (Roxbury) granted in 1708 to Johannes Hardenbergh and others with additional lands granted in 1754. Isaac Hardenbergh was Roxbury's first town supervisor, at the time of his death he was living in Catskill, Greene County, New York.

Lewis Hardenbergh (1783-1838) one of seven children of Isaac and Rachel (Graham) Hardenbergh, held various town offices in Roxbury including postmaster of Hardenbergh Mills and was a Colonel in the 174th Regiment, 25th Brigade, 6th Division, New York Militia.
