Greenbaum, Rachael (actress: fl. 1920-1980)

The Glasgow Jewish Institute Players were founded in 1936 by Samm Hankin (fl. 1920-1976) and Avrom Greenbaum (1903-1963). They were formed out of the Jewish Institute, Glasgow, Scotland, and when the Jewish Institute moved to South Portland Street, Glasgow, a theatre, the Little Theatre, or Bloch Little Theatre was established which opened in 1938 . They united with other theatre groups to form the Glasgow Unity Theatre in 1941 . At the end of the Second World War they appear to have separated from the Unity Theatre. Samm Hankin later went on to found the Avrom Greenbaum Players around 1965 from the remains of the Glasgow Jewish Institute Players .

Avrom Greenbaum wrote and produced many plays performed by the Jewish Players and others. His wife, Rachael Greenbaum (fl. 1920-1980), was an actress with the Glasgow Jewish Institute Players.
