Massachusetts Indian Association. Stockbridge Auxiliary
Organization formed by prominent local women who sought to aid in educational and missionary work for and among Indians, and to "abolish all oppression of Indians within our national limits." It grew out of the work of Mary Bonney and Amelia Quinton, and included such names as Lawrence, Bidwell, Fields, Byington, Brewer, Williams, Sedgewick, Goodrich, and Averill.
