McMillan, Neil T.

McMillan (1893-1975) was born in Denver, Colorado, and attended Colorado College from 1915-1917, when he left school to join the U.S. Army. He soon transferred from the Infantry to the Army Air Corps and was commissioned as a pilot and 2nd Lieutenant in 1918. McMillan spent several years barnstorming before entering the air mail service as a pilot with Western Air Express (later Western Airlines) in 1929. From 1934-1946, he was a pilot with Eastern Airlines. McMillan was a member of the Colorado Air National Guard from 1925-1934 and 1950-1957. He was a civilian employee at Colorado's Buckley Air National Guard Base from 1957-1968 and was inducted into the Colorado Aviation Hall of Fame in 1972. McMillan also wrote short stories which were published mainly in boy's magazines.
