Arnold, James R. (James Richard), 1923-

James Arnold is a theoretical chemist formerly associated with the Manhattan Project, the Institute of Nuclear Studies at the University of Chicago, and Princeton University prior to his appointment in 1958 to the chemistry faculty at UCSD. Arnold has been a continual consultant to NASA and has served as associated editor of the JOURNAL OF CHEMICAL PHYSICS. In 1964 he was elected to the National Academy of Sciences, and, in 1968, he received the E.O. Lawrence Award from the Atomic Energy Commission.
