Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association

The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) is the oldest continuous intercollegiate athletic conference in the United States. The seven current members are all private colleges (Adrian, Albion, Alma, Calvin, Hope, Kalamazoo, and Olivet) and no athletic scholarships are awarded. Women first competed in the League in 1896. In 1941 the Women's Michigan Athletic Association was formed. During the 1978-79 season the WMIAA and the MIAA were brought under single governance.
