Jessica Dragonette, a radio singer, was born 14 February circa 1909 in Calcutta, India.

She began her professional career on the stage in Max Reinhardt's production of THE MIRACLE in 1924. After a few other stage appearances, she began her radio career in 1926 as Vivian in THE COCA-COLA GIRL, radio's first original singing-acting serial. She sang on THE PHILCO HOUR from 1927 to 1930 and on THE CITIES SERVICE CONCERT series from 1930 to 1937. Listeners voted her Radio Queen in 1936 and Radio Star of Stars in 1938. She left radio to embark upon a transcontinental concert tour in 1937. Returning to radio in 1940, she starred in the CBS network's FORD SUMMER HOUR and SATURDAY NIGHT SERENADE. She appeared in the film, THE BIG BROADCAST OF 1936 and lent her voice to the animated film, GULLIVER'S TRAVELS, in 1939. In the 1950s, she embarked upon a new career performing dramatic readings in concert.
