Rogers, Henry O.
In 1898 Henry O. Rogers, of Malden, Massachusetts, and his associates in the Boston and Alaska Gold Mining Company purchased the schooner Abbie F. Morris in Boston. While some members sailed the schooner to San Francisco, others traveled overland by train. The parties met in June and sailed to Alaska where they established headquarters on Mary Island. At some point the company's name seems to have been changed to the Bay State and Alaska Mining Company.
From the description of Henry O. Rogers papers, 1894-1899. (Unknown). WorldCat record id: 702132250
