Jones, Harris, 1892-1977
Harris Jones (b. Sept. 16, 1892, Torrington, Conn.-d. July 1, 1977, Ashville, N.C.), U.S. Army officer, graduated from West Point in 1917. He served with the American Expeditionary Forces as commander, Co. D, 6th Engineers. Following World War I, he served as an instructor at the U.S. Military Academy from 1918 to 1922 and from 1931 to 1947). He also served as dean of the Academic Board, West Point beginning in 1947.
