Howes, Raymond F. (Raymond Floyd), 1903-1986

Educational administrator.

Howe graduated from Cornell University, Class of 1924. After teaching at the University of Pittsburgh (1924-1926) and at Washington University, St. Louis (1926-1936), Howes became Executive Secretary of the Cornellian Council of Cornell University. Howes was later appointed assistant to Engineering Dean Solomon C. Hollister and assistant to the provost, dealing primarily with fundraising. In 1951, he joined the staff of the American Council on Education, Washington, D.C. Howes authored several books, including OUR CORNELL, 1939. He was also the nephew of E.B. Titchener, a prominent psychologist and Cornell professor.
