Kendall, Nathan Edward, 1868-1936.
23rd governor of Iowa (1921-1925). Kendall was admitted to the Iowa Bar in 1887 and established a legal practice in Albia, Iowa where he served as city attorney (1892) and prosecuting county attorney (1893-1897). Kendall was elected to his first of 5 terms in the Iowa House of Representatives in 1899, serving as speaker of the House in his fifth term. From 1909 through 1913 he served as an Iowa representative to the U.S. Congress. He was sworn in as governor in 1921 and served until 1925 when he retired due to failing health.
