Expert in California literary history with special interest in works of Joseph Henry Jackson, Joaquin Miller and Mark Twain. Community leader in Alameda County (Calif.). President of Oakland Rotary Club (1946-1947), member of Alameda County Probation Committee (1948). Penned unpublished reminiscences of Bay Area literary life (1894-1945).
