Concord (Mass.). Committee of Arrangements (1850)
Committee formed to make arrangements for joint celebration at Concord by Concord, Lexington, Acton, Lincoln, Sudbury, Bedford, and Carlisle of 75th anniversary of Battle of Concord. Officers: John S. Keyes, Chairman; William W. Wheildon, Secretary; John M. Cheney, Treasurer. Public celebration on Fri. Apr. 19 included representatives of towns involved, Governor and Lieutenant Governor of Massachusetts, various other state officials, veterans of Battle of Concord, and numerous distinguished guests. Ebenezer Rockwood Hoar presided over Union Celebration; Robert Rantoul delivered oration.
