Maillart, Robert, 1872-1940

Maillart was a Swiss civil engineer who revolutionized the use of structural reinforced cement. He was the outstanding designer of reinforced concrete bridges and buildings during his lifetime. His major works are the leading examples of structural art, and models and photographs of them are still exhibited in art museums.
