The Collection of Regional History was established in 1942. It subsequently grew into the Dept. of Manuscripts and University Archives, and in 1992 it merged with the Dept. of Rare Books, History of Science Collections, and Fiske Icelandic Collection to form the Division of Rare and Manuscript Collections.
