Blacklock, Allen Bruce, 1904-1992.
Allen Bruce Blacklock (1904-1992) spent his entire life in Elberta, Michigan. A self-educated man, he began his employment with the Ann Arbor Railroad by working as a brakeman (1923). Throughout the years, Blacklock was employed by the railroad in various capacities until his retirement in 1969. He also served his community as village president for 32 years. He was a member of the Benzie County Board of Supervisors for 25 years, and was active in the Democratic Party. In addition, Blacklock organized the Highway 22 Association, and was honored as Railroader of the Year for his dedication to community affairs (1957). In 1975 he published Blacklock's history of Elberta.
