Clark, Dymphna 1916-
Translator, linguist and wife of prominent historian, Manning Clark. Dymphna undertook a number of translations from German, including Von Hügel's New Holland Journals, and played an active role in community organisations such as the Aboriginal Treaty Committee and in support of environmental programs. After Manning's death she was a staunch supporter of his work and reputation, particularly in the wake of controversial allegations by Peter Ryan and the Courier Mail in the 1990s.
