Barron family.
Brothers James and Samuel Barron were U.S. Naval officers who attained the rank of commodore. James Barron is better known, having commanded the frigate "Chesapeake" when it was fired upon by the British in 1807. This led to his suspension and ended his active duty service. He challenged and killed Stephen Decatur in a duel in 1820, harboring the feeling that he was a victim of a plot by his fellow officers.
