Chesnut, John, 1799-1839.
Kershaw District, South Carolina plantation owner and South Carolina state Senator. A Unionist, John Chestnut was the delegate for Kershaw District at the Nullification Convention (1832-1833), where he voted against the Nullification Ordinance.
