Wentz, Abdel Ross, 1883-1976
Abdel Ross Wentz (1883-1976) was a professor (1916-1940) and president (1940-1951) of Gettysburg Lutheran Theological Seminary, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Wentz was active in the formation of the Lutheran World Convention; its successor, the Lutheran World Federation; and the World Council of Churches. He also was a well-known author of numerous books about Lutheran history.
